You recently installed a new Realtek Ethernet driver, but it isn’t functioning properly. You’ve already tried basic fixes like rebooting, using the troubleshooter, resetting connections, and switching to an older WiFi adapter. USB tethering also doesn’t work. You’re considering using a driver booster, but you’re having trouble connecting your computer. What should you try next?

Save the version tailored for your device. You’ll likely require another machine with internet access and a flash drive to move the drivers.

It's fascinating, since I obtained the driver from there, which caused all the issues. My MOBO is an MSI Z97 PC model.

Did you just confirm the installation? It might also be useful to add the chipset drivers.

Windows displays error code 56 in the Device Manager under Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller. It also appears you can't install drivers, as the process seems to stop unexpectedly and reset the settings.
