Yes, it is possible to install both MS and Libre Office on the same system.
I do.
The compatibility between Access and Base can be challenging.
If you have any macros or code in Access, they may not transfer fully.
Office Pro isn't limited to Access alone; it also contains Publisher (which you might or might not require).
For your two existing Access MDBs... are they properly backed up, correct?
Not just a single copy?

Neither Access files contain macros. I don't need Publisher; Office 2003 is more expensive than what I usually use, especially since it has unnecessary add-ons.

Really? The King keeps getting bad luck but he's not too clueless about making regular backups across several drives. Plus, my new Xeon HTPC and HP laptop have ECC RAM to help prevent data errors.
