Odd objects appear and glow in GTA 5.
Hello, I recently purchased a new PC and attempted to play GTA 5. It displayed strange flashing images resembling artifacts. A friend suggested posting about the issue here. I brought the machine back to the store where it was bought—it was a pre-built unit—and after inspection, they confirmed everything was functioning correctly. I tried several troubleshooting steps: updating and reinstalling graphics drivers, rolling back the driver version, updating BIOS, reinstalling the game multiple times, verifying files, deleting them, and even reinstalling Windows. The system ran without overheating or unusual power usage. I also tried reinstalling Rockstar support software, but nothing resolved the problem. My PC has an AMD Ryzen 7 3700K, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and an Nvidia RTX 3070. Please give me some patience; I’m not an expert on computer hardware. Also, the audio issues I heard seem unrelated to actual sound. Weird Artifacts.mp4
I've played Escape from Tarkov, Farcry New Dawn, and Battlefield 1, and everything worked smoothly without any problems.
They lack artifacts, except possibly the GPU unless there’s a specific reason the game behaves differently. A fresh install might have resolved the issue. If not, it could relate to the code or your system configuration. Trying to disable and re-enable the GPU one at a time could reveal more.

I understand it's strange, I've done everything possible yet it still doesn't work.
I've restarted the installation on both solid-state drives and hard disk drives, but the GPU remains set to its standard configuration.
I recommend adding a second RAM stick just to enable dual channel. It could speed up your system slightly, though it won’t make much difference for this setup. Your single stick might already be dual rank, so the extra RAM likely wouldn’t help much. This issue may depend on your graphics driver, the game you’re running, and some configuration settings. The 3700x with a 3070 chipset is quite common, meaning many users would face similar problems if they did. It doesn’t appear to be widespread, so something specific about your hardware seems to be the cause. The only odd thing here is having a large graphics card paired with just one stick of RAM at once. That’s all I can observe from what you shared. The most remote explanation could be that an external EMI or RFI source was present during gameplay—something unrelated to your system itself. If you played the game when that interference wasn’t active, it would be normal. Edited March 22, 2022 by Bombastinator
I think there might not be a hardware problem, but it's still possible. The hardware inspection found no issues. Appreciate your effort!
