Have you ever visited a food delivery spot and had your phone prompt you to leave a review? Then you log into your Google account and realize your location history has been monitored for two years, tracking every place you've been? What you receive is recommendations from friends you've never met before, just like before. And there are online stores with occasional virtual reality advertisements. The whole corporate scandal only begins when eye and full-body tracking becomes common with Oculus, using infrared cameras instead of color sensors, which means it mostly interprets objects in a generalized way. It might capture your surroundings, but I believe some noise reduction is built in—because background fan noise would be distracting. If you try YouTube VR, you can search videos using voice commands, which is impressive and highlights the main privacy issue. However, doing this requires the YouTube app. So you must wonder if YouTube is listening to you right now! People are rejecting Facebook because it feels outdated.

The top feature of the new headset for PC gaming is its high-resolution display and the ability to connect via cable or a single window prompt to launch games on the PC through an Oculus link. It’s very straightforward. For advanced users, the XR2 chip and Wi-Fi 6 enhancements provide wireless streaming with a strong boost. Now I have wireless PC VR, which is a real game-changer.

I own the Quest 2 too, and it truly stands out. No other device in its price bracket matches its quality, though you often have to give up some standalone features or wireless capabilities. The main drawback is that if Facebook decides to ban your account, it’s not a great fit for you—you’ll just have to wait while another company releases an HMD. The "random bans" claim is overblown; they actually remove around two billion fake accounts each quarter, making it unlikely your new account will be affected. If you already have one there, don’t worry about it.
