Occurs during certain titles and at unpredictable times
Hi guys as the title says I've been having issues with a new PC build and it's my first one so not sure what the fix is. The problem is that when playing a few games so far the PC is black screening around any time from 5 minutes up to around an hour, the PC will shut itself off instantly, the RGB for the keyboard etc will power down and then come back on, I'll hear the chime for windows login screen but the displays remain black, I then have to hold the power and turn back on and the PC will start as normal again. These are the games it's happened on: Black Ops 6 (Only on the Terminus map, everything else works fine) (Xbox App) Indiana Jones TGC (Xbox App) The MH Wilds Beta (Steam) There's other games I've played without a single hitch, 100+ hours in CP2077 on Ultra without a single crash, Older games run fine and don't crash whatsoever either, Ps2 emulator, MH World, Sekiro and Nier Automata ive all tested for multiple hours with no problems. The fixes I've tried are as followed: Enabling/Disabling XMP Turning off Core Performance Boost Uninstalling Drivers with DDU and reinstalling Updated my BIOS to the latest version Checked my GPU has two separate cables (not daisy chained) Undervolting the GPU Reseating the GPU and the RAM Checking all PSU connections Plugging the PC into different outlets Setting Precicison Boost Overdrive to Manual and then Motherboard Changing the display ports and checked the monitor refresh rates Going into AMD software and setting clock frequency to 90 and 80 percent (this fixed the issue for a couple days and then it returned) There's probably a couple more but I can't remember everything as it's been back and forth for a couple months. Might be unrelated but I did have an issue a week after first building where the PC crashed itself more and more to the point it couldn't start windows, a clean reinstall of windows but the issue happened a couple more times, after I updated my SSD firmware that issue has completely gone away. My temps mostly look good too, in Indiana Jones when it crashed it was around 78°C for GPU and hotspot was sitting around 8 degrees Higher, CPU temp sitting around 68°C, I don't think these temps are worrying as I get them in CP2077 and no crash. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm unsure whether this really is a hardware or a software issue and has really got me at a complete loss where to go from here to fix it other than buying more hardware and swapping it out (which I don't really have the funds for). My Specs: CPU - Ryzen 5 5600x GPU - XFX 6800 16GB MOBO - Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite AX V2 RAM - Crucial Pro DDR4 (2x16GB) PSU - Corsair RM750e Gold PSU SSD - WD Blue SN580 2TB Thanks Guys
