Occasionally the screen doesn't display a splash when connecting my new motherboard.
I recently purchased an Asus B660 motherboard to use with a 12400F. My setup includes three monitors—two via DisplayPort (including my main) and one on HDMI, which is expected to switch to DP soon. After installing the board and CPU, I was concerned something might be wrong, suspecting issues with the GPU, RAM, or installation. It turned out I only needed to connect the HDMI monitor for a working display. Once in Windows, I eventually got everything functional again. During reboots, I no longer see the ASUS splash screen and can enter BIOS without problems. When I tried resetting by pressing delete and F2 at startup, nothing changed. I checked online for BIOS settings to disable the iGPU, but none were available. Asus advised disabling fast boot, which didn’t resolve the issue. Could anyone help me get this working smoothly without constant monitor changes? Thanks for your assistance.
The splash screen appears on your DP monitor either because it takes a long time to activate or since Deep Sleep is turned on. You might be able to disable that setting. I have an old DP monitor that responds very slowly, but you can still access BIOS by pressing the Del key during startup.
I'm not sure about this situation. On my previous motherboard, I experienced no issues with a splash screen from either DP monitor. I also brought my PC to a friend's place with a similar configuration (3 monitors, 2 DP and 1 HDMI), but all his displays performed better, and the same problems occurred there as well. Additionally, I'm having trouble accessing the BIOS by repeatedly pressing delete unless it's specifically the HDMI monitor.
