Occasionally switching programs causes my PC to freeze briefly. During the extraction phase of an installer, my system freezes too. This might be linked to my SSD—when it shows 100% usage in Task Manager, the response times are very slow.

It might be linked to the SSD's design. Based on your specific model, it uses a fast write cache that transfers data more slowly to regular storage when you exceed its capacity. Once the cache writes its contents, performance improves. Without upgrading, you can't avoid this issue except by switching to a different SSD with a larger cache or faster overall speed. Another option is to connect directly to an HDD, which won’t cause as big a slowdown since it’s inherently slower. Software installation will take longer, but the system won’t freeze like with an SSD. Let me know if this helps.

I'm curious about what was going on before the system started freezing. The freezes seemed to appear suddenly about a month ago. You were thinking about getting a new SSD, even if it wouldn't solve the issue. Would a Kingston KC3000 1TB work for you?
