Occasionally the computer stops working properly!
Hi, I recently set up a computer about two years ago and it’s been working well. Lately, I’ve noticed blue screens and occasional crashes. Sometimes games freeze unexpectedly, browsing Chrome stops responding, and Discord restarts itself. When my PC blue screens, it stutters before stopping. The error messages often mention "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT", "SYSTEM_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED", or issues with ntfs.sys. I’m not sure if it’s related to RAM, but it seems possible. I’d like to focus on one problem at a time before considering hardware or software fixes. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Edit: I missed noting that my computer makes a disconnect sound every time it powers on, even without any action. That might be relevant.
The system includes a Ryzen 5 2600 with Intel 2600 MSI GTX 1660 graphics, 6GB OC Corsair Vengeance RAM at 3200MHz. Storage features Crucial BX 500 and two 1TB Samsung 860 EVO SSDs. Windows 10 Pro is installed with SSDs. Let me know if you require additional details.
There's a good chance your RAM could be having stability issues. Ryzen and their supporting boards are known for it. Some RAM kits are not stable on certain boards in certain DOCP profiles or OCs. I would check the motherboard manufacturer's QVL for your specific board model and see if your RAM's SKU (part #) is on it. If not, that might be because it is not stable. ADDED: You can find this by googling "manufacturer board model ram compatibility", but don't bother with anything that isn't your specific board model or isn't the board manufacturer.
