Occasionally the computer freezes and stops working unexpectedly. Need assistance!
Hey! I just finished assembling a PC and everything seems to be functioning properly. I've double-checked it numerous times, but I still can't pinpoint the issue. Despite doing everything correctly, it occasionally freezes for about three seconds before shutting down. I've tried various fixes, but nothing seems to resolve it. The crash has occurred three times within roughly 20 days.
Here are the details of the build:
- RAM: DDR5 2x16 sticks at 5200MHz
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
- Motherboard: NZXT N7 B650XT-W1 ASRock Steel Legend Radeon RX 7800 XT
- GPU: 16GB, 850W Gold-rated PSU from Corsair I/O
- Power supply: 100W Gold-rated from Corsair
I'm aware that pairing the 5 7600X with the RX 7800 XT can be a slight bottleneck. According to the Bottleneck Calculator, my calculations suggest only a minor issue (around 6.7%), but I'm not confident in my math.
I've also attempted to overclock the CPU, which might help. However, the PSU seems capable given its power rating, and it's still spinning when I check. There are no bent pins in the CPU socket, and the RAM is functioning perfectly. The fans are working fine, and all connectors are secure.
The GPU is connected properly, and stress tests show the CPU reaches 92°C (197.6°F) and the GPU 62°C (143.6°F). All cables are firmly plugged in, and I suspect the problem might be software-related. I've tried shutting down unused programs, but it still crashes after three days.
CPU overclocking has stopped the crashes so far, but my GPU is now running at full capacity even during less demanding games. Please advise—what should I do next? I'm stuck!
