It functions reliably, though it's your final attempt. Did you get any restrictions while using the computer?
We placed it on the sofa during installation, but when attempting to turn it on, it ended up on the ground.
If you weren't grounded (by wearing something like an anti-static wrist strap) you could have shorted a connection on your MB, but it is unlikely. Is your monitor connected to a GPU or directly to the MB? Also, are you able to isolate what could be causing it to not turn on "sometimes"?
Does it support VGA or DVI connections? Your display should also have those options.
