Good evening, everyone. I've faced some issues with my PC recently, experiencing freezes and audio glitches before it crashes. Playing games like Oblivion often leads to freezing and then sudden shutdowns. Despite trying driver updates and fresh Windows installs with minimal success, the problems persist. My current BIOS version is E7C82, and I'm using a 550-watt power supply. I'm running out of options and would appreciate any suggestions you might have on resolving this. Just yesterday it crashed while trying to boot SPECS and froze in BIOS mode.
Start by reinstalling your RAM, even test booting with a single stick and swapping slots to identify working ones. Consider updating your BIOS or checking for loose cables and misaligned standoffs on the motherboard, which might cause a short circuit. It seems like a RAM problem based on the symptoms. I replaced the RAM and ran some tests on certain games. I managed to play FFXIV without it crashing right away and also Space Marine 2. It seems stable so far. Usually by the 5 to 10 minute point it would freeze and require a reset. So far it’s working! If it keeps functioning for a few more days, I’ll post the thread as resolved, thanks again!
