Hello, according to the title, you recently replaced your GPU from Gigabyte RTX 3060ti to Zotac RTX 4070 Super. After that, your computer began freezing during gameplay and when switching apps such as Discord. This issue didn’t occur with the 3060ti. It only happens occasionally, and sometimes the mouse cursor behaves unpredictably. Usually, I play games in full screen, but even windowed fullscreen doesn’t solve it. I attempted to monitor temperatures via NZXT Cam, but when freezing occurred, CPU temps were around 45°C, GPU temps between 50°C and 60°C. Could anyone assist in diagnosing the problem and finding a solution? Your PC specs are as follows: motherboard GIGABYTE Z790 UD AC, CPU Intel 13600K, RAM ADATA XPG Lancer RGB 16GB DD5 x2, SSD Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB, GPU Zotac RTX 4070 Super, AIO liquid cooler Hydro Vortex 240R ARGB Black, CPU AIO Liquid Cooler | 240mm radiator, PSU ASUS ROG Strix 850W Gold, Power Supply Odyssey G4 FHD (25 inch) & Dell S2721HN FHD 1920x1080 @75Hz.
It didn't occur with the 3060, but it started happening occasionally with the 4070. I'd recommend putting the 4070 in another machine for testing. A friend might be able to lend you one. Also, since you have a 13th generation Intel Core CPU, you're familiar with the recent stability issues they've been discussing.
Verify operation without G-Sync enabled. Any changes might indicate a faulty DP cable. Have you uninstalled drivers prior to upgrading your GPU using DDU?
I didn't handle that, but when the issue occurred I performed a fresh installation of Windows and drivers (by the way, I'll attempt to modify the dp cable).
