Hi, it's been two years since I assembled this PC, so compatibility problems are unlikely. I've used it without issues for two years now.
Details:
Motherboard: MSI X570 Gaming Plus
RAM: 32GB
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
GPU: RX 6600,
The fan on the motherboard runs quietly at first—just press the start button on the case, it makes a short sound for about two seconds, then stops. After that, the screen turns on and the PC boots into Windows. Everything works fine.
Occasionally, when I press start, the fan spins rapidly without stopping, the screen goes black, and the PC fails to boot. At that point, I have no choice but to perform a hard reset.
Anyone have a solution for me?

Have you upgraded the BIOS to the most recent version?
Are there the newest chipset drivers available?
https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/...t-am4/x570
The fan on board is the chipset fan, and I own one.
It might depend on a BIOS setting, but it shouldn't alter unexpectedly at startup -

i never thought about that, but i'll give it a shot. thanks for offering an alternative. i managed to resolve it by updating to the latest version, which made my boot process much smoother. i didn't realize bios could have such an effect.
