Hello. I’m experiencing an unusual problem with my new PC. Sometimes it starts up and the temperatures spike to 100°C immediately (confirmed via HW monitor). After that, everything slows down drastically, Steam launches slowly, and then the system just powers off completely—no BSOD appears. In Event Viewer, I see error code 6008: "The previous system shutdown at 6:22:21 PM on ‎6/‎15/‎2023 was unexpected." Interestingly, when I switch to UEFI, it shows 89°C on the CPU and then freezes or shuts down after a brief delay. However, during Cinebench R23 tests, the CPU reaches around 89°C under full load, suggesting the cooling is functioning properly. About 90% of the time the PC boots normally without issues, but these overheating episodes disrupt performance. The specs are: 12900K, ASUS TUF Gaming Z690 Plus, AMD Red Devil 6950 XT, Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360, Kingston KC3000 2TB, Smasung EVO 960, 256GB NME, Corsair RM1000e V2.

Do you have a CPU cooler? Even if it isn't designed for maximum power, it might help determine if your AIO is faulty. From what I see, your AIO may not be working properly or there could be air in the pump. If the CPU performs better with an air cooler, I'd return the product or consider a larger tower cooler. Fewer points of failure would be ideal.

It seems the AIO pump doesn’t power up when connected to the PC. Try touching the hoses emerging from the pump; if they’re warm, water flow might be blocked. Otherwise, the issue could be with the water supply.

It seems like you're considering checking the AIO pump next time to see if it's running, which could explain the issue.

It seems the AIO pump isn't starting, which might explain why Hinjima mentioned it.

Hello. It seems the system is working without issues while I check the connections. The cables aren’t hot, and the machine isn’t running at 37°C.

Avoid running at 37°C when idle. Attempt cinebench for ten minutes, then test the tubes and check their temperature (make sure it's below 100°C). When your idle reaches 89°C in the BIOS or actual idle, feel the tubes to confirm they're warm or not. If they're not warm, the pump likely didn't start.

You’re using an Asus board that can damage the chips easily. Check the bios settings and change the svid behavior to normal. This should prevent the severe overvoltage issue. The pump failure is likely the main cause—similar problems occurred with a Gigabyte board where a cold boot would stop the CPU fan, but a restart resolved it.

Sure, I understand. I'll attempt to interact with the tubes once the 100°C temperatures are detected during startup.

I've confirmed that already and reduced the voltage on the CPU. It seems the issue lies with the AIO not powering up.
