I was here a few weeks ago. My PC wouldn’t start. Eventually, I unplugged the boot SSD and it began in BIOS. Based on the error code, I suspected an issue with the SSD. I changed the input socket to the MB and it worked again. I purchased a new SSD and cloned the old one over, thinking I’d resolved the problem. Now it won’t boot at all, though this time the screen is completely black. I tried a different screen, but nothing appeared at all. I unplugged the SSD so no drive was connected, attempting to boot into BIOS. Still just a black screen.

The PC keeps cycling through attempts to boot, failing to power down and restarting repeatedly. The error code directs me to A0 or says “IDE initialisation started, then in fails.” I kept swapping the SSD input and it would sometimes work, I think. Codes go up to AA, and it sounds like it booted but the screens remain black. I pressed various keys without success, couldn’t shut it down, and now it won’t do that either, just cycling as before.

When there’s no signal, the screens enter power standby, and during the few times it boots, they go to black. There was no standby when it was briefly powered on. Like it was trying to get a signal but nothing appeared. Any advice?

Purchased a new SSD and performed a clone of the previous one, thinking I had resolved the issue. If I were you, I would have reinstalled the operating system. To follow proper procedures, I should recreate your bootable USB installer for the OS. When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's important to provide complete system specifications. Please list them clearly as follows: CPU, CPU cooler, Motherboard, RAM, SSD/HDD, GPU, PSU, Chassis, OS, Monitor. Also include the age of the power supply unit along with its make and model, the current BIOS version for your motherboard, and any other relevant details.

MB is an asus p9x79ws
Coursair ax860i power supply
Kingston ram
I don’t remember the exact CPU model
Big fan cooler, Coursair again
I transferred the GPU to another slot and now it keeps cycling to AA before failing. It stalls on AA for a short time before shutting down and restarting.

Occasionally it remains on AA, seemingly powered on, yet displays black screens. A fan begins to run but then repeatedly halts, suggesting a malfunctioning cycle.

It continued in that manner for half an hour before I powered it off and removed the GPU to investigate its condition. It was a GTX1070 ZOTAC.
