Occasional stuttering during gameplay (sound and visuals)
Occasional stuttering during gameplay (sound and visuals)
Hey everyone,
I'm seeking some guidance. Over the past months, I've encountered problems while playing games on my PC. It seems to occur intermittently, sometimes everything works perfectly but then it stops after about 45 to 60 minutes. I've recorded a video to illustrate the issue, with sound enabled for better visibility. This problem appears in both online and offline gaming sessions. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eLBuLiRLr0. It's worth noting that the FPS isn't dropping as expected.
I've attempted a fresh Windows 10 installation and moved all games to a new drive (same SSD for the OS). My system specs are:
- Ryzen 7 2700
- 32GB RAM
- GTX 1070
Hi, please go to bios and reset the bios settings using the default options, without making any changes. Save and then reboot. If the PC boots up, check if the problem resolves. If not, ensure CSM is enabled or disable it if it's already on, as this might fix Windows not booting after a bios reset.
If you still experience stuttering after the reset (only with CSM/UEFI changes), there may be a driver causing high interrupts. Use the utility called latencymon: https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon. Open it, press the play button and minimize it. Run games until you notice stuttering; latencymon should provide some insights.
Also, switching to fullscreen can increase DPC/ISR issues with GPU drivers in latencymon, which is normal.
