I recently got a new laptop and I enjoy playing games on it. After about 30 minutes, I notice occasional lag. The game pauses briefly for 3-5 seconds, then resumes for 2-4 seconds during an online match. My machine is an Acer Aspire V15 Nitro BE VN7-592G-741S. Can you help me? Thanks.

Temps ? Cela ressemble à une surchauffe – un problème assez fréquent chez Acer.

Join the discussion by sharing your temperature data using tools such as MSI Afterburner. Let us know the GPU and CPU temperatures during this phase. It seems you might be experiencing thermal throttling, a situation where parts reduce performance to avoid overheating.

Which game are you currently playing? Are you experiencing any lag? Have you installed the latest GPU drivers?

I'm his sibling and my temperatures are fine below 70°C. Everything is current with Windows 10. The titles playing are Warcraft III, Terraria, and GTA V. Ping stays at 40ms and I’m not experiencing thermal throttling in Terraria, lol.

WC3 operates using the iGPU. I’m aware from playing it often on my Y50. The stutters could also stem from a slow 5400RPM drive. GTA V may face VRAM problems if the 960M/860M is a 2GB version.

You didn't verify the CPU temperatures, but I know GTA V can really stress CPUs. The Nitro models tend to hit close to 95°C during intense gameplay.

It's a 4GB model, GTA V runs smoothly at normal settings, but textures are very high quality. I configured it to always use the GTX 960, and it works well on a 5000RPM drive without lag—CPU usage peaks at 82% and GPU at 76%.

Are there any items occupying the storage space unnecessarily?

I removed everything unnecessary and irrelevant that Acer had put in place (unnecessary ads)
