I've experienced frequent crashes on my PC lately. Initially, I used DDR4 RAM, but after upgrading the motherboard and installing DDR5 6400 MHz CL32, I still faced instability. I’d play games for a couple of hours before the system would freeze completely and restart. Over the past month, I’ve been working to resolve this problem, but nothing seems to help.

My build specs are: CPU i7-12700K, Motherboard ASUS Z790 Prime-A, RAM 32 GB DDR5 6400 MHz CL32, GPU 3090 FE, OS Windows 10, PSU RX1000 1000W, Corsair. The crashes always end with a full shutdown and then a restart. The PC doesn’t come back online after the crash, so I’m not sure if the power supply is faulty, though I’m not certain. Temperatures look normal—CPU around 50°C, GPU at 80°C, VRMs seem fine. It hasn’t happened since my last upgrade.

I’ve updated all drivers I could find and ran a 86memtest for about four hours. Results were stable. Still, someone suggested XMP might be the issue. I tried underclocking the RAM and disabling XMP, even lowering the clock to 5600 and turning it off completely. The problem persisted.

Now I’m considering replacing the motherboard or running another long 86memtest. Any advice would be greatly appreciated at this stage.

Use DU-DU to uninstall the graphics driver, then reinstall it. Install the appropriate chipset and other drivers for your motherboard. Consider reinstalling Windows or setting up a Linux environment.
