Occasional PC restart (unusual situation)
What's the PSU? If it runs smoothly under full load with Prime95's smallest FFTs and furmarks, but crashes only during games, it might point to a board issue. Consider disabling XMP settings and see if that resolves the problem—if not, try replacing the board.
PSU is officially listed as a CM 850 SFX Gold. I haven't tested prime yet, plan to try it. Experienced with both with and without XMP enabled. No success so far. Crashes appear only during gameplay and exclusively when the drive is inside the case. Inside the case functioned perfectly.
Not considered another build scenario. Will proceed. Currently setup lacks side panels. Temperatures are stable and gaming is ongoing. Completed Prime 95 + Furmark; peak temps reached 82°C on CPU and 76°C on GPU. Functioned well. Looking for another pre-owned case to evaluate. Thanks. Curious—what factors could trigger a short in the case without prior changes or internal adjustments? Any insights appreciated!
