I own a gaming laptop I bought about two years ago. Recently, in the past few months, my CPU has frequently exceeded 100°C and then instantly drops to around 40mhz for cooling. This never occurred before, but it started happening recently. After replacing one of the fans due to a breakage, the first three days were normal. I cleaned the laptop about five months ago to replace the thermal pads, but I only applied paste on my hands and didn’t use thermal paste properly. Could this be related to the thermal pads? The model is an Asus TUF Fx505dd with a Ryzen 7 3750H processor.
