Occasional FPS declines and stalls on powerful systems
Occasional FPS declines and stalls on powerful systems
Hey there, I'm just starting out here and I'm not entirely sure about all the steps. I've built a new PC for the third time, and everything worked fine at first—no problems for a few days. But then I started seeing random frame rate drops, stutters, and freezes while playing games like Rocket League and Valorant. I looked into it and thought about doing a full Windows reinstall to see if that would help. I double-checked that I had the latest drivers and BIOS updates, but the problem came back after a short while. I tried lowering my RAM speed and disabling XMP, which seemed to fix things for a bit before it went back to normal. I'm not sure what else to do, and I don’t have much experience with troubleshooting. Also, my CPU and GPU temperatures are within the manufacturer’s limits, and I remember my PC restarted blue once during Valorant without any reason. If you can share more details about your specs or what happened after the restart, it would help a lot. Thanks for any advice!
Are you sure the 750W power supply is sufficient for the CPU? Even though the 4070 GPU isn't very power-hungry, the 14900K can spike to over 400W on its own. Let me know if you need more clarity.
