It’s challenging to put into words, but occasionally a popup appears in the corner of my screen every few minutes. It alters its size and type, sometimes resembling an NVIDIA update alert but larger than usual. It usually shows green and black icons or a big white box with visible text, though I can’t read it quickly. The notifications tend to show up on my secondary monitor. A scan with Malwarebytes didn’t reveal anything suspicious. This has been ongoing for weeks, so any solution would be appreciated.
Is it sometimes visible on the secondary screen? Which platforms are permitted for displaying alerts? If you navigate to the permitted applications and extend the time, do you notice your inquiry being addressed?
Let us know if anything differs. Right now, with only Google shown as approved, it looks like one of them might be a program or undetected malware. Stay calm for now—this could also be a PUP.
hasn't encountered anything unusual; this has never occurred when using opera gx or on chrome. I've looked into reddit and Mozilla forums, but it appears to be related to hardware acceleration. I've attempted to disable it, hoping the issue resolves, though results remain inconsistent.
I also discovered a similar visual demonstration. Very close to what I'm seeing, and the original poster mentioned disabling hardware acceleration in the thread resolved it.
It appears the problem was related to hardware acceleration in Firefox, and clearing those options resolved it.
