Occasional BSOD and frequent restarts
All systems are functioning properly. It seems the graphics card might have been affected, possibly causing early wear. I've experienced multiple restarts today and yesterday, with the current one being particularly frustrating—playing for over 15 minutes is nearly impossible. Initially, it showed a blue screen followed by a restart, then abrupt shutdowns with a black screen before rebooting. The most recent incident had the game freezing while my clock remained visible on another monitor, indicating it was still running briefly before restarting. It could be related to overheating or hardware stress.
Typically, the Ryzen 9 5900X should operate at temperatures under 70-75°C (158-167°F) for optimal stability and lifespan. While it can handle up to 95°C (203°F), prolonged exposure is not advised. Using overlays like ex msi afterburner and monitoring temperatures during use can help maintain safe operation.
I recorded my temperatures prior to restarting – everything seemed normal. CPU hovered near 74°C and GPU around 70°C.
I’m about to share this on bleepingcomputer since they’ve been really useful before. Just a quick thank you!
