OC via Asus AI Suite 3, voltage excessive?
Hello, this is my initial entry here, please forgive any mistakes
I'll begin with the details of my setup:
Case: Fractal Design R5
Mobo: Asus Z170-A
CPU: Intel i7 6700k
CPU-cooler: Noctua NH-D15
RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance 2133 MHz
GPU: Asus GTX 960 Strix 2 GB OC
PSU: Corsair CX500M
(I have no prior experience with overclocking)
Last week I attempted overclocking using Asus AI Suite 3, but I halted it early due to uncomfortable temperatures.
Yesterday I tried again and allowed it to complete this time. The program reached 4,8 GHz, but I'm concerned about the voltage settings. I'll share a photo of the result, including a screenshot from my BIOS.

AI Suite indicated the maximum voltage is 1,400 V, which seems reasonable. However, my BIOS shows a core voltage of 1,488 V—this appears unusually high.
I'm wondering whether this overclock is safe or if adjusting the BIOS voltage will prevent damage.
Should I revert to the default settings, or is it possible to lower the voltage safely?
Adjusting the voltage in the BIOS, AI Suite and related system OC schemes usually results in higher than necessary voltages. The optimal method is to manually configure through the BIOS.
