OC problems with Ryzen 2700x
The A2 and B2 slots are frequently used in Ryzen systems and similar models. This happens due to a mix of problems: interference from the CPU coolers and challenges related to trace routing through the MB.
In fact, all consumer dual channel platforms follow the same pattern. They might use different names for the slots in some instances, but they are consistently the second and fourth slots from the CPU on every dual channel DDR3 and DDR4 motherboard I have encountered. This is true for every single one of them. Not implying you own one, but if you've noticed a consumer dual channel motherboard with varied primary population rules, it would be interesting to see such a variation since I haven't found any.
