Tried using MSI Afterburner but my display drivers keep crashing and sometimes the PC crashes to blue screen when it reaches that speed:

Are there other solutions for this issue?
I own an ASUS X456U Notebook with these specifications:
Intel Core i5 6200U @ 2.80 GHz Quad Core
Nvidia GeForce GT940MX 2GB DDR3
Samsung DDR4 3333 MHz
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Are you checking overclocking instructions for issues related to core clock usage without extra voltage?

it's possible to think about how much I don't understand, and unless your laptop can handle it well, i'd be cautious about proceeding.

Are you aware that running the main processor at full speed without extra power might lead to the issue? Have you checked any overclocking instructions?

it's possible to think about how much further I don't know. unless your laptop has enough cooling to handle it, i'd be cautious about doing it. i think...i'm mainly concerned about how far i can go.

I begin by reviewing some overclocking manuals; they don’t specify exact values but explain methods to achieve a decent clock speed. Temperature is likely the main constraint when using a laptop.

if your laptop allows adding voltage to it then even more reason to watch the temperature as more voltage means more heat

I'll begin by reviewing some overclocking manuals; they won't specify exact values but will guide you toward achieving a decent clock speed, since temperature is likely to be the main constraint with a laptop.
The voltage adjustment on the MSI afterburner is currently disabled... what should I do next?

I’ll begin by looking at some overclocking guides, they don’t specify the exact settings but will guide you on achieving a decent clock speed. As mcnumpty mentioned, temperature is likely the main constraint with a laptop.
The voltage slider on the MSI afterburner is grayed out... what now?
You’ll need to open the settings and check a box to enable voltage control, provided it’s supported.

And if it permits and you face issues with the overclock preventing startup, press the Ctrl key as it begins to override the clock. However, as I mentioned earlier, please ensure the GPU temperature is being monitored.
