I have an i7 6700k on an asus z170 pro gaming board with an OC of 4.6 at 1.3v using Hyper 212. On the HW monitor, temperatures spike above 80°C for a brief moment and then return when I switch to AIDA. Is this typical? And should I try pushing the CPU further for a higher OC?

Additionally on HWMOnitor, the CPU temperatures indicated a peak of 78°C, whereas the core temperatures suggest a higher limit of 87°C; currently, during the stress test, it's approximately 70°C.

I think you're fine, it's a bit warm, though it's a stress test. In regular use it should be about 5°C cooler.
