Hey guys,
I just got BF1 for my semi new gaming PC.
I5 4690K, GTX 970 Strix, 8 RAM, Asus Z97-A.
I play the game mostly without issues but sometimes experience FPS drops during intense moments.
The "Can I run it?" message says my GPU and CPU aren't meeting the minimum specs.
So my question is – would it help to overclock either the CPU or GPU (or both)? Or should I just lower the settings and accept the performance?
Thanks for your help!

I'm fine, but the only issue I notice is the RAM. BF1 consumes a lot of it.
With my setup (i7-6700k, GTX1070), my RAM frequently reaches up to 9.2GB, which seems to be contributing to the drops.
My CPU is more than enough for this.
If your GPU wasn't the problem—try running the game with lower graphics settings to check if drops persist.

I'm fine, but the only issue I notice is the RAM. BF1 consumes a lot of memory. On my system (i7-6700k, GTX1070), RAM usage frequently reaches up to 9.2GB, which likely causes the drops. Your CPU is more than enough. If your GPU wasn't the problem, you can test by running games at lower graphics settings and still seeing drops.

I've seen BF1 consumes a lot of CPU in multiplayer, more than any other game I play. Overclocking would definitely help, but I wouldn't jump in until I'm sure I understand what I'm doing. Modifying the GPU is simpler than tweaking the CPU, so I'd try that first.

many discussions have focused on FPS drops in FPS with BF1, even on powerful machines equipped with Haswell/Skylake cores and GTX 1080s at 1440p. Given that the highest-end setups are struggling, it's no surprise your system might encounter issues too.
