OC caused problem
OC caused problem
i upgraded my r9 390 with an 8gb memory module and adjusted the memory clock speed. after doing that, the display went dark even after restarting and unplugging everything. the system starts normally but shows nothing on the screen. you might want to check if the overclock was enabled during startup. a common solution is to go into safe mode and remove any overclock software.
I made changes to the original text while keeping its length and style similar.
The recommended settings are often referred to as global wattman or similar options. For future use, consider employing MSI Afterburner. There are three methods to resolve the issue:
1. Disconnect the GPU, switch to onboard graphics if available, then reset the OC or remove wattman.
2. Enter safe mode and reset the OC or delete wattman.
3. Connect the boot drive to another computer and delete wattman.
There is a small possibility the GPU might fail, though it's uncommon. You might want to try running R9 390 on another machine to verify. I haven't experienced any GPU failures during overclocking.
With voltage on auto, wattman could potentially cause overvoltage to the memory.
