I'm aiming for a very gentle overclock, only a 100mhz increase, just to be sure it's safe. These parts are already there—Z170, unlocked chip, etc.—and I'm noticing a lot of mixing with supply and overclocking. It's really minimal.
Your PSU wattage needs are controlled by the graphics card, not the CPU.
Your CX600 should work well with most contemporary cards.
It may lack reliability, but it poses no serious danger.
Corsair maintains a solid return policy.
I experienced no issues returning two CX430 models that failed.
There’s no need to replace them.
Regarding overclocking, I anticipate you can achieve 4.5 or higher.

What percentage could achieve an overclock with a reasonable 1.40v Vcore?
I5-6600K
5.2 – less than 1% delidded
4.9 – 14%
4.8 – 38%
4.7 – 67%
4.6 – 87%
You should use a decent air cooler with a 120mm fan; nothing special is needed.
Focus on monitoring the Vcore, keeping it below 1.4 under load.

How would a corsair H60 perform with a mild overclock? That could work, but I wouldn’t suggest it.
You’ll quickly exhaust your safe vcore before hitting thermal limits.
A basic air cooler paired with a 120mm fan would be more affordable, quieter, and more dependable.
A $35 investment gets you a scythe kotetsu, Cryorig H7, or cm hyper212.
I use a well-binned i5-6600K @4.8 with a noctua NH-U12s.
