I turned on XMP and it caused a blue screen. I got the used unit, and they can't support 3600MHz. The performance difference isn't too big. Thanks!

It shows a big difference in performance. The main question is about the type of RAM you own—were you getting two separate kits or individual sticks, or all four from one kit? Are they from the same brand? Do they match in speed and latency? The 2133MHz model has noticeably shorter timings compared to stock speeds, though it's unclear if regular models have lower timings. The video mentions an i9-9900K, which is similar to a stock 10600K. It also compares a 2x slower RTX 2080 to your 7900 XT. Even with faster CL timings in 2133MHz, it doesn't change the fact that both 3200 and 2666 MHz are quicker.

It was identical. Riptide 3600mhz with two sticks of 8GB. Should I upgrade my RAM? I wasn't sure. If I do, I'd prefer 3600mhz and RGB for those extra frames (just for looks).

This looks like a reasonable price for the product you mentioned.

Would you prefer this version: "The price is higher, so I wouldn't choose it."
Or the alternative phrasing: "Since it costs more, I'd avoid it."
Either works depending on your tone preference.

Sure, I understand. Could you use just two 8GB sticks and see if I can tell them apart?

You mentioned only two 8GB units, not four. That clears up the confusion. Regarding the distinction, they share the same specifications, but one uses standard silicon while the other incorporates GSKILL Trident technology.

Yes, there are two different options available. These differences can sometimes lead to problems, and you mentioned that enabling XMP might cause crashes or other issues.

I'm really not great at explaining things. The kits I have are GSKill Riptide. I shared the links from Silicon Gaming and GSKill Trident, but I'm a bit confused about which one to choose. Sorry for the mix-up!

You don't have to purchase additional RAM if you can upgrade your existing one to overclock. If it comes pre-assembled, it should function properly after overclocking. Higher-speed RAM may not be compatible with your 10600K due to limitations in the memory controller.
