Woke up 11/5 with the intention of purchasing a 5900x...boy did that not work out. Read from one guy that newegg sold out in like 12 seconds (or was it 12 minutes...still). Was anyone successful in grabbing a zen3 cpu? Anyone have any thoughts on how long it will be before you can ACTUALLY buy one of these? Got a bunch of parts laying in the floor waiting for cpu...hope nothings DOA, but that's my fault for ordering early I suppose.
On day two I received a unit from MC, which required around five visits spread over three weeks to obtain the 3080.
I'd love to be nearer to a meeting spot. The nearest is about 120 miles away, but it could still work if they offer to keep one or let me arrange pickup online so I don't lose time traveling the full 240 miles.
I received a 5900X + 3080 from Micro Center on the fifth day. I waited in line starting at 7pm the previous evening. I was really thrilled when the 3080s came that night. Even though I didn’t get the 6800 XT, we’ll see what benchmarks say first—I won’t be camping again lol. If you’re close to a Micro Center, it’s best to visit early in the morning. They ship a few times a week. With some luck and timing, you should be able to secure one.
I regret not having a nearby microcenter. The nearest one was about 40 minutes away, and the closest was roughly an 8-hour drive.
