Hello everyone, my friend's Lenovo Y50 is running Windows 8.1 Single Language OS and it’s completely broken. I chose to reset it. After some issues, I reduced the OS drive size with EaseUS Partition Manager, but the Recovery partition is now damaged. Now I’m trying to figure out the best way to proceed. Should I try to retrieve the key from the BIOS, or should I install a generic single-language key and activate it afterward? My question comes from the fact that my internet data is limited, so I’m asking for advice. Thanks in advance.

The tool should retrieve the key from the BIOS, though this also relies on the specific MSDN version in use. Based on the appearance, it seems to be targeting Windows 8.1 Pro rather than Core.
