Observe changes in the CPU fan speed variations.
Hey everyone! I’m dealing with an old Acer po3-640 prebuilt. The BIOS has been updated and some bloatware installed, but factory settings are still in place. Recently, I noticed the case pressure dropping, so I started experimenting with the fans. In the BIOS there’s only a SmartFan toggle—off it runs all fans at full speed until the system boots, then switches to minimum. I opted for Acer PresatorSense because it offers auto mode where fans stay at a low setting, gaming mode keeps them high, and custom RPMs between 60-100%. It’s frustrating though. When auto mode is on or with the fan control disabled, the CPU fan doesn’t activate until it hits 100°C, and the GPU only warms up at 65°C. The case fan speed never adjusts. I tried custom RPMs and fan control apps, but none worked properly. Even Mint can’t see the fans except for the GPU ones. Now I’m considering BIOS modification to tweak the curves, but it seems impossible. I’ve tried Nitrosense custom RPMs and everything else is failing. Honestly, I’m at my limit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
