Hello everyone! I recently faced this issue and it's really frustrating. Certain games I've been playing started to launch even though FPS remain around 130 to 150. Games like Apex Legends and F1 2020 were functioning perfectly before. I've tried reinstalling drivers, keeping temperatures below 60, benchmarking CPU and GPU, updating BIOS, using CCleaner to fix registries, scanning for malware, but nothing seems to work. The only thing I haven't tried is formatting everything, though I'm not sure what else to do. It's strange this problem just appeared suddenly...

My setup:
Z390 Aorus Master
i7 9700K
RTX 2070 Gigabyte Gaming OC
16GB Corsair 3200MHz
512 ADATA S11pro SSD
1TB Intel 665p SSD
Corsair RM750x
Monitor: MSI Mag271CR, 144hz

If you could help me out, it would mean a lot. Thanks.

Hi, here are the results. I also experimented with formatting, but it didn’t help much. While playing F1, the image freezes briefly after a few seconds when I return, sometimes at 150 FPS and other times completely frozen. Regarding the benchmark, I understand my RAM isn’t using dual channel because slots 3 and 4 aren’t working properly. It’s been functioning well for over a year without problems, but now it seems like an issue. Could this be the reason even though everything worked before?

Having dual channel with two sticks is essentially important since otherwise your system would experience latency during decoding.

Thank you for your message. It seems unclear what you're referring to, but it shouldn't have occurred from the beginning. I've been playing many games without any problems for almost a year and a half, which is why I'm asking...

I mean yes and no, you were likely dealing with some issues throughout the whole time, but not realizing them. Now that systems are getting more powerful and complex, games are being updated with more detailed graphics, which forces components to their limits. If you check your RAM latency in milliseconds, and compare it to typical dual-channel systems, you'll see the numbers are much higher.

I get it. I’ll likely try a different model. I was wondering if the issue is with the GPU, and whether there’s any certainty about its condition before deciding. Since it’s still under warranty, I don’t want to risk sending it back for free...

run occt on the gpu/graphics will stress it if it's the gpu, but you're seeing results from userbenchmark, making it hard to confirm it's the gpu.

I'm sending the MB and RAM to warranty next week, just checking if I should include the GPU as well. Ran OCCT, 3d test, and memory test for about 25 minutes each with no issues, so it seems okay.

Hi! I've updated the settings, and the RAM is now functioning correctly. The user benchmark looks good, but the issue persists despite improvements. I managed to play for about three hours at 144 FPS with a cap, and it worked perfectly until the GPU started making more noise and the startup messages became poor. After a few seconds of alt-tab, it improved again—seems like a GPU-related problem, even though the highest temperature reached was 70°C.
