I receive it for nearly free CPU (i5 6500) but face unusual issues. Previously, my experience varied: some processors worked well, while others prevented even startup or caused freezes during booting (before BIOS, after BIOS, etc.). A good processor functions properly in both BIOS and when launching the OS. This one behaves differently—it starts correctly and is recognized by BIOS, I can adjust BIOS settings for hours without problems—but still fails to boot into Windows or Linux from a pendrive. The system restarts itself silently, displaying the POST logo repeatedly without errors. It spins in circles briefly before shutting down. On both integrated and external CPUs, temperatures are normal. Anyone else encountering similar problems?
I provided complete details. I checked performance on two motherboards. I'm unsure if it functions yet. Do you have background on this CPU's behavior?
It appears the hard drive has an issue. Check the BIOS settings for "Load Optimized Defaults" and reinstall Windows. If that fails, try a different hard drive.
And if it doesn't function on other models too, it might mean your processor has a defective part (such as I/O or RAM controller). Consider exchanging components so that the only matching aspect between two systems is the identical CPU, with all other details confirmed to work properly.
You mentioned using a live USB with Linux, which has a different boot device and system setup. The outcome remained consistent.
It might make sense here. I'll look into the BIOS settings, but I feel this processor seems to be malfunctioning in an unusual way.
