Observation of CPU temperature spikes during testing sessions
Sorry if this looks similar to another post. Every time I run a stress test, my CPU overheats quickly—within seconds—and reaches temperatures over 100°C. Once I stop the test, it drops to around 40-30°C. I've tried applying thermal paste again, relocating the AIO cooler, adjusting fan directions, and re-seating the CPU. It seems my motherboard might not be handling it well. I can't make much change in the BIOS, and even setting it to default didn't help. The motherboard still shows the AIO pump and fans spinning. I've set the fans to maximum speed but didn't notice any improvement. Any advice would be appreciated. I've attached my sysinfo for reference.
Is the AIO new or old? If new make sure the plastic peel is off of the cooler, if it is old make sure there is fluid left... Ask me how I know just went through this same deal, AIO I had been running started to not cool and temps would spike to 80+ as soon as a load was applied, turned out that most of the water had evaporated out over the years. Then when installing new AIO I managed to leave the plastic peel on and when testing temps instantly climbed to 100.
The fan and pump display indicates the pump is running at 2900 RPM. The thermal paste appears to be applied thinly. The main issue seems to be that the liquid temperature rises only by 3 degrees.
