Observation of CPU temperature and fan speed patterns during spikes.
Hello everyone, I notice my CPU temperature frequently increases every few seconds while idle or during light web browsing. I believe my system has solid airflow management. My build includes a Phanteks Eclipse P300A with the front air mesh, two intake fans on the front, and one each on the back and top for exhaust. The stock cooler is installed, and the thermal paste is still intact. I couldn't locate a detailed CPU fan graph, but it appears to run inline with the CPU temperature. It accelerates every couple of seconds when the CPU heats up. Do you have any suggestions or solutions? Is this typical behavior? Thanks all! Best community!
This behavior is typical for AMD systems. Under light workloads, voltage rises to support higher boost frequencies across the cores. The CPU temperature shown in Afterburner and utilized by the motherboard's fan curve is Tdie, indicating a hotspot. This leads to temperature increases during lower load conditions.
