Hey Guys, I'm facing a problem with a particular game I've been playing. OBS seems to struggle capturing it well. I'm having trouble getting a stable 1080p recording at either 30 or 60fps. Other games run smoothly on my system—1080p 60FPS is fine—but War Thunder keeps dropping frames or producing poor quality videos. I'm not sure what the ideal settings are.
I use the following setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 3800x
- GPU: RTX 2070
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF x570 Gaming
This is my current OBS recording configuration for War Thunder:

Faster Preset
no profile or tune
I've managed to get decent FPS and resolution with other games like Hell Let Loose, but this one falls short. I've also tried the new NVENC encoder, but when I play at maximum graphics settings it still suffers. I've kept background programs minimal—just a few tabs or Steam.
Could anyone help me out? I've checked online guides and rate controls, but I'm stuck. Thanks in advance.
Well, unfortunately no one seems to have the answer. But deleting a thread might not be very helpful. Someone who occasionally checks old discussions could possibly stumble upon it. I’m not a gamer and don’t have specific game knowledge, so it wouldn’t be effective for me.
Anyway - do you have its own forum? I’d probably try to ask there or look for a support channel or contact the developer directly. If they offer a solution, you could update this information so others can find it too.
