Nzxt x62 不直插
I just put the cooler on top of the CPU and was tightening my last two thumb screws when they said they wouldn’t go straight. I’ve tried to adjust the standoff screws, but they won’t work. They refuse to cooperate. What should I do? I can’t take out the standoff screws and the screws are starting to come out.
It shouldn't be a problem if the parts aren't straight; they're being stamped out in large numbers. I'm asking whether you're reducing the thumbs before proceeding. You don't want to, as this could cause torque on the mount and misalign the final screws. I suggest loosening all the thumbs completely, then applying 2-3 turns on the problematic screws. Continue with a criss-cross pattern of 2-3 turns each. The mount should be sufficiently loose to start all four thumbs in place. Repeat this process until the pump is nearly tight, then go through 1/2 turns until very secure, and finish with just 1/4 turns. My x61 actually proved easier to mount than my h55.
Do you have an image showing the extent of the screw stripage? Are you asking about the head of the screw or the threading of the thumb screws? Often during installation, frustration takes over and what should have been a simple task becomes a difficult situation. Only by staying calm and acting carefully could it have been easier. Would you also be able to share a video of your installation process? There are installation videos on YouTube, but I'm interested in your specific method.
Thank you for your message. Here are the photos you provided.
When setting up the waterblock, have you confirmed positioning one finger at the center of the AIO cooling block and securing the screws using a cross-pattern method before tightening them in a similar way?
Unlike the video shown, it’s recommended to use your fingers to tighten the screws. If the screws are installed with the incorrect threading, they may be forced improperly.
A clearer example of the correct technique can be found here:

You appear to have the shorter screws in your package.
I attempted the criss-cross technique, but it appears the thumbscrew isn't fitting properly on the standoff screw. Can the standoff screw be removed? It might not be aligned correctly.
It shouldn't be a problem if the parts aren't straight; they're being stamped out in large numbers. I'm curious about whether you're reducing the thumbs before proceeding. You wouldn't want to put torque on the mount, and the final screws might not align properly. I'd begin by loosening all the thumbs completely, then back them out fully, followed by turning the problem screws 2-3 times each. Then alternate in a criss-cross pattern, turning 2-3 times each. The mount should be sufficiently loose to start all four thumbs in this manner. Continue until the pump is nearly tight, then adjust with half turns until very secure, and finish with a quarter turn. My x61 actually proved easier to mount compared to my h55.
