processor - AMD FX-8300 Vishera 8-core
cooler - LEPA LPWAC240-HF AquaChanger 240mm liquid cooler for 240mm hp
graphics card - ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 970 4gb
motherboard - ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
ram - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8gb (two 4gb)
hard drive - Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1tb 64mb cache sata 6.0gb/s 3.5"
overclocking cpu? would this psu provide sufficient power?

It isn't a good power supply, made by Sirtec. Consider an EVGA GS or G2.

I wouldn't go overboard, but a bit of light overclocking would be acceptable.
