Consider alternative approaches for transferring data. The H440 lacks optical drive bays, but a flash drive could serve as a storage medium. I was thinking of copying the Windows installation files and placing them on the flash drive before booting. Would this method be viable?

It seems likely it is. You could also connect a DVD drive you already own and remove it after installing Windows.

I could get an outdated optical drive from an extremely old machine and simply leave it there for a while. Appreciate the suggestion.

Get the Universal USB installer from pendrivelinux. Choose Windows 7 Installer, navigate to your ISO file, pick your storage device, confirm the format option, and execute the process.

It uses a SATA drive. Recent motherboards lack IDE ports.
