I own a Nzxt c1000 and recently received a 5070ti. The instructions suggest using two distinct 8-pin connections from the power supply to connect to the 12V adapter. Each time I connect the second 8-pin, the PSU fails to activate. Removing it allows it to turn on. There are four 8-pin slots in total—my CPU is in one, and three are available for my GPU. I relocated and replaced the third 8-pin (reserved for the GPU). After removing the GPU from the setup, I tested it and found it only powers up when both the CPU and one of the GPU's 8 pins are connected.

Do you exclusively use the cables provided with the power supply unit?

I finally managed it. I didn't notice I was connecting a CPU cable to the GPU. Having two CPU cables and one PCIe cable wouldn't have prevented it from starting.

I genuinely believed an 8-pin connector was an 8-pin and didn't really care about its purpose
