You should install the SSD that comes with a heatsink, as it provides better thermal management and performance stability.

Based on the motherboard, some heatsinks secure the SSD via a screw or lock on the heatsink itself rather than directly on the drive. Certain SSDs come with very large heatsinks, which can be problematic if you have a powerful GPU or mount it horizontally. Ultimately, performance impact is minimal unless you frequently move large files, so choose the design that looks better and fits your components more comfortably.

They suggest the 1TB Samsung 989 Pro Gen4. You're using a 1GB Z690 gaming board with DDR4 RAM and an Intel 13th gen processor.

Hi, please quote or tag the person you want to get replies from, otherwise high chance we won't see your reply. Anyway, 980 Pro is great, high-end on SSD quality, but unless you need ultra fast transfer speed for something, It's generally a waste of money. In other words, the average consumer won't feel the difference, unless they constantly write files on the SSD. My recommendation for gen 4 as follows: Good value: Kingston NV2 Good value with great performance: WD Black SN770

Instead of focusing on a solid SSD case, you should consider one that offers excellent heat management. I bought one and it really works well!
