Hey there! I switched to Windows 10 Insider Preview for the free license, and when I started up, I installed the latest Nvidia drivers to connect both monitors. Now I’m experiencing no sound at all. On the playback devices page, everything shows as Nvidia HDMI outputs, but none are connected. My card is an ASUS GTX 760 DCUII with just one HDMI port. There are no other devices listed, even if they’re turned off. What should I do? I really like Windows 10, despite this problem. It looks better than Mac OS X.

The motherboard is an AsRock 970M Pro3 with the FX 6300 chipset installed. It’s unclear exactly what you’re referring to.

I also experienced a minor problem that seemed unusual. I restarted the PC, and the sound functioned properly again, routing audio through the monitor via HDMI rather than the speakers.

I'm downloading the Realtek drivers from AsRock's page. It's for Windows 8.1, but I'm hoping it will function properly.

This was a good suggestion. I hadn't considered restarting yet.

I couldn't locate it, but another approach would be to open Device Manager and remove the HDMI audio devices linked to sound adapters. This is typically done after installing AMD and Nvidia drivers.
