i just set up Manjaro Cinnamon Edition to test it, but right away I ran into issues. my system specs match mine exactly. I usually connect one monitor to the GTX 1050 and another to the 780Ti. The problem is that the one linked to the GTX 1050 is turned off, even after setting it up in NVIDIA settings and saving the config to the Xorg file. When I open Firefox, I keep seeing screen tearing, even though I enabled the full compositing pipeline in NVIDIA settings. The driver version I have is 396.54.

I also observed that nvidia-settings doesn't retain any changes after a reboot. It cleared the force full composition pipeline and the digital vibrance adjustments right away.

The system is likely just the driver getting excited. What’s your question about using two displays on separate cards?

I'll share the xrandr output once I'm back home. I'm setting up two monitors with different cards for a major upgrade over the weekend. I plan to add a 32" TV as the main display and possibly another screen. That brings the total to four displays. My goal is to power the TV from the 780Ti and the rest from the 1050, ensuring YouTube videos won't interfere with gaming performance. I can even shift random tasks between CPU 1 and CPU 2 for better efficiency.

Don't stress about it – the effect is small.

Using fewer screens reduces the amount of VRAM consumed.

In my experience, nothing has been an issue, and I frequently use many pixels on a 4GB card. Nonetheless, there seems to be a potential problem somewhere.

I have the 1050 nearby. If I can figure out a way to use it, I’m glad. It also lets me power all my displays via HDMI/DisplayPort, which is a nice perk.

Screen 0 displays a resolution of at least 8x8. Current setup ranges from 1920x1080 up to 16384x16384 in DVI-I-0, DVI-I-1 and HDMI-0. Dimensions vary between 531mm x 299mm and 1680x1050 with pixel values around 59.95 to 1600. Axis orientation follows standard left-inverted right.

The command output of lspci -v will list available devices and their details. You can check how you modified xorg.conf by reviewing the configuration files in /etc/xdg/logind or inspecting the relevant XML files.
