It's just that I've noticed higher quality on Gamestream, and Shield offers a 4K 60fps choice.
There are some streaming delays that are frustrating, it’s better to look for a solution like running an HDMI cable under the floor or something similar.
People mentioned the lag is almost nonexistent... I've tested various streaming services and always return to cable since input delay bothers me. If they claim it's minimal, they might just be marketing the product. Honestly, it feels annoying—especially with VSync on or off. Streaming seems better suited for videos and movies, not for games like Final Fantasy. For any game that demands precise input (like RPGs), it's a big no. I've tried streaming with my device right next to the router, one wired and one wireless; the lag was extreme. Playable for RPGs but not ideal for fast-paced games such as Tekken.
I have a streaming link in the upstairs bedroom and the delay is almost nonexistent. I suspect the lag comes from the TV itself, not just the monitor. Switching from a 144Hz display seems to help. The same issue appears when using the TV in the living room with an HDMI cable. Would you mind if I check if Steam Link works over a wired connection?
It looks like you're considering using powerline adapters for data transfer through your home outlets. They seem to match the latency of a standard Ethernet connection. You might want to purchase one and test it out yourself.
