Hello Everyone,
I’m encountering the same error when trying to use Freestyle on UWP games. It happens with Rise of the Tomb Raider, Minecraft, Shadow of War, and CS:GO—all purchased via Xbox GamePass. I also tested it on Borderlands 2 and Overwatch, which worked fine on Steam. This seems to be a recurring problem, especially since I’m using GamePass heavily. Is this an issue that’s been reported before, or is it specific to my setup? I’d appreciate any insights from others who have faced this.
Cheers

UWP applications generally face issues when paired with overlay tools like MSI Afterburner or Freestyle. In theory, the Afterburner/RTSS overlay might work with UWP apps, but in practice, I was unable to achieve compatibility.

I never got afterburner or CAM to work with those either. The NVIDIA overlay does work, tho, kinda of. I can open the overlay or turn on the fps counter. But Freestyle and photo mode just doesn't work.
I'm curious if this is a major issue and people are pushing NVIDIA for better support or if everyone just gave up on UWP games. I know they are garbage. I'd never buy them, but damn, xbox gamepass is actually a fairly decent service. It bothers me that I can't use a feature that I paid for when I bought my GPU.
What a shame.

From what I recall it's not about UWP being supported by third parties, it's more about UWP being a royal pain in the ass to get these types of things working, and where it's such a small demographic there just isn't much reward in going out of the way to get it to work.
