Noticing electrical signals in my PC during gameplay
Recently I changed my bios and immediately performed a fire strike test. During the test, I noticed some mild electrical buzzing from my PC, which wasn’t bothersome but noticeable. It was unusual to hear such noise. I also experienced it during a Fire Strike test—after the first scene ended and the electricity cut off, it resumed when loading the next scene.
I suspect this might be related to my 3600X processor running at 1.4V during gaming with higher voltages. After disabling CPB in bios, performance dropped slightly but the noise decreased slightly. Do you think this is typical? Could the new bios update have caused any issues?
Do you notice actual electrical discharges, which can feel alarming?
It sounds similar to a buzzing sound. That might be coil whine, which is normal but can be bothersome at times. It could originate from the motherboard or graphics card.
I shared the recording—it sounds similar to coil whine, though I’m not certain it’s the same.
