Nothing highlights the importance of frame rate like playing Bloodborne on PS4
Just got Bloodborne on the PS4. It’s a great game overall with impressive art and mood, though the performance is really lacking. The frame rate is probably nowhere near 30fps in many areas, and it would have benefited from better anti-aliasing. I wish this title had been released for PC so we could fix those issues. Edit: I’m not sure why it looks like that.
Keep an eye on those fog doors before facing boss fights. The visuals slow down to about 2-5 frames per second for roughly ten seconds, then resume normal speed.
It relates more to the developers' optimization efforts than the PS4's hardware. The Last of Us remaster performs well at 1080p and 60fps, while Bloodborne struggles in comparison. It's unclear why it doesn't match the visual quality of the first game.
The frame rate decreases become significantly more obvious when you're viewing someone else's gameplay on their PS4. It's like Sony making changes! Let the PC transform Bloodborne into its intended form!
It's nearly here. The visuals are striking in a unique, artistic way. It would look great with some texture effects and a reasonable frame rate. Still, I'll keep the PS4 as my console unless PC releases similar titles.
I still have a few advantages. Mostly multiplayer-focused, I tend to choose for the PS4 version because of its larger player base. There are similar titles, but I’d rather play without needing a console and have everything on PC. The DAT PS4 controller is really nice too—I’ve been playing PC games with it all the time since I got the PS4.
